Modernising Air Traffic Management As One News and Views from SESAR Deployment Manager Edition # 3
Dear reader,
We are very pleased to announce that on July 16, the two ATM-related projects – 'CLEAN ATM 2' and 'GREEN CNS' initiatives – submitted in response to the CEF Transport Call for proposals 2023, were awarded under the CEF Call 2023 decision. This represents a critical achievement since both awarded projects were prepared and coordinated by SESAR Deployment Manager, demonstrating the capability of supporting and facilitating access to grants for over 50 operational stakeholders from all across Europe (including air navigation service providers, airlines, airports and the Network Manager).
Consequently, these two multi-stakeholder initiatives are set to receive over € 140 million of EU public funding, under Connecting European Facility (CEF), the main instrument established by the European Union to support and accelerate strategic transport investments. For the first time, the SDM-coordinated initiative also foresees the participation of UkSATSE, the Ukrainian provider of Air Navigation Services, helping to further anchor and integrate Ukraine in the European transport network and infrastructure.
A new CEF Call is awaited to be published in autumn 2024 and SESAR Deployment Manager is continuously supporting its operational stakeholders in preparing the ATM/CNS projects proposals in reply to this Call.
To celebrate our achievements in the field of ATM digitalization in the last 10 years, we are organizing a stakholder event "A decade of Transformation: Modernising European ATM As One" on 4 December 2024, to which all our partners are warmly invited.
We will welcome key stakeholders and representatives from European Institutions, the ATM industry, members, implementing partners and operational stakeholders to jointly look at the past, the present and the future of ATM modernisation at the unique occasion of 10 years of SESAR deployment.
